People always say there's nothing to do in Traralgon. They're wrong. Friday nights in this town have more going on than you'd think - you just need to know where to look. Here's the rundown.

1. Finally Mine - Bar Night

Alright, I'm biased. But Thursday to Saturday, we flip from coffee house to bar. Cocktails, local wines on the barrel tables, craft beer, and bar snacks. We run live acoustic nights most Fridays - local musicians, no cover charge. The bi-fold windows are open, the lights go low, and the vibe shifts completely from the morning crowd. It's the same corner, different energy.

2. MOMO Rooftop

MOMO's rooftop deck is one of the best spots in Traralgon when the weather's right. Cocktails, a solid food menu, and a view. If it's a warm Friday, get up there early - it fills up.

3. Iimis Cocktail Bar

Iimis has been around since 1999 and they know what they're doing. The cocktail list is extensive, the atmosphere is a bit more upscale, and they've been a Traralgon staple for a reason. Good for a date night.

4. Traralgon Bowls Club

Not what you'd expect on a Friday night list, but hear me out. Barefoot bowls on a Friday evening with a group of mates and a few beers is genuinely one of the best things you can do in this town. Low-key, fun, and surprisingly competitive after a couple of rounds.

5. Latrobe Performing Arts Centre

Check their calendar - they regularly pull touring acts, comedy shows, and live theatre. It's a proper venue and the programming has gotten really good in recent years. Dinner at a local restaurant beforehand, show at LPAC, drinks after. That's a Friday night.

6. Dal Mondo

If you want a proper sit-down Italian dinner, Dal Mondo is the go. It's been a Traralgon favourite for years. Good wine list, classic Italian dishes, and the kind of place where you book a table and stay for three hours.

7. Traralgon Railway Hotel

The Railway has live music regularly, a solid pub menu, and the kind of atmosphere that's unpretentious and welcoming. It's a good starting point for a Friday night or a place to end up after you've been everywhere else.

8. Catch a film at Village Cinemas

Sometimes a Friday night is just a movie and popcorn. Village Cinemas in Traralgon has the latest releases and Gold Class if you want to make it an event.

9. Night walk along Traralgon Creek

The walking track along the creek is well-lit and peaceful. After a week of work, sometimes the best Friday night activity is a 30-minute walk with a podcast and fresh air. Ends well if you walk towards Breed Street for a nightcap.

10. Wine & Cheese at Finally Mine

We run Wine & Cheese Evenings on select Saturdays - Gippsland cheese paired with local wines on the barrel tables. It's $45 per person, walk-ins welcome, and it's become one of our most popular events. Check our Instagram @finallyminecoffee for dates.

Traralgon isn't Melbourne. It doesn't need to be. It's got its own thing going on, and Friday nights are when you feel it most.
